The immense experience gained in this field has enabled the company today, to expand once again into manufacturing several plants and equipment for the Atomic Energy and Nuclear Power.

Today, GEL is also working on a highly prestigious project of the Indian Govt. The project involves setting up its 2nd Fast Breeder Reactor for Nuclear power at Kalpakkam, near Chennai.

This expertise today, distinguishes GEL from all its competitors. Not many of them have had the experience of working on mission critical nuclear power applications as us.

All these years, the Govt. of India, nationally or through state bodies has rewarded our Quality and Productivity with various prestigious awards 8 times.

The Company has been growing year after year. From a humble beginning with 100,000 USD in 1982, it has reached a turnover of 6 million USD in 2006 with a vision and possibility to achieve growth rates as high as 60% for the next 3 years in sight.

GEL further diversified in the field of Explosives and Propellants Plants by executing turnkey plants for Fine RDX (Explosive) manufacturing and Dense Nitrocellulose (Propellant) manufacturing for the then Missile project of the Ministry of Defense.


Over the years:

	GEL has completed more than 100 plants successfully and to the utmost satisfaction of its customers.

	GEL achieved the distinction of supplying to Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, the largest painting plant for spray painting complete German coaches at a time.

	GEL achieved to its credit the distinction of providing the largest Phosphating plant of a capacity of 3 tonnes / batch at Integral Coach Factory, Chennai.

GEL added plants and equipment for Milk processing, Alcoholic Beverages, Distilleries and Food processing to its stable.

GEL diversified into making special purpose machines such as fully automated (PLC Controlled) process plants for surface treatment, which provided import substitutions for the Ministry of Defense, Government of India and the Indian Railways. The expertise included Designing, Fabricating, Installing and Proving out of Plants for Pickling, Degreasing, Phosphating, Electroplating, Painting, Powder coating as well as Effluent treatment and Fume Exhaust Systems.

GLOBAL Engineers was established in 1982 by Girish M. Gupta, a Mechanical Engineer by profession and a non-resident Indian returning home from the US for good.

The company was initially set up to manufacture high security Fencing known as “Punched Tape Concertina Coil” in India or more commonly, “Razor Wire” world wide. GEL revolutionized the high security concept in India by popularizing the product, which in turn made G.M Gupta, bag a National Award from the then President of India, in 1985. The product was exclusively deployed at the Indo Pak border to effectively check cross border terrorism.
